I got my first digital camera: a point & shoot (Canon Powershot S30) a few years ago which triggered my fascination for photography. I then took the bold step of buying my first D-SLR, a Canon Digital Rebel (300D) but when I found an interested buyer for it a couple of months ago, I couldn’t resist the temptation to upgrade to a Canon 30D. In the whole process, I have learnt that it’s not merely the equipment that helps you take great pictures (it certainly does help!) but rather a combination of timing, luck, patience and most importantly, an eye for the beautiful amongst the mundane – just check out the Round Here photoblog and you’ll see what I mean. For what its worth, below is a list of the modest equipment I have amassed over the last couple of years: Cameras Canon EOS 30D Canon Powershot S30 Lenses Sigma 17-70mm F2.8 Canon 50mm 1.8 Canon 90-300mm Lensbaby 2.0 Other Toys Canon Speedlite 420EX Velbon Tripod Delsey CameraBag Sto-fen Diffuser
